Yesterday, the apprentices of BST GmbH presented over 50 Christmas gifts to the Von Laer Foundation in Bielefeld. The gifts from BST are intended for children and young people who can no longer live in their families and have found a new home in the Foundation's facilities.
Dr. Rolf Merte, Chairman of the Management Board of BST, explains: "I think the action of our trainees is very strong. It was overwhelming how courageously and quickly the entire staff participated. This spirit of our BST makes me proud. I am especially pleased that we were able to bring joy to these children and young people at Christmas."
At the beginning of December, the trainees placed the wish lists of the children and young people of the Von Laer Foundation on the Christmas tree of BST, which has its headquarters in Bielefeld-Altenhagen. On each of the more than 50 slips of paper was the name and wish of a child. The staff members could take one of these from the tree to fulfil the respective wish. Some employees even took two slips of paper with them. In just one day, all the slips were taken off.
Since many more employees wanted to participate, a donation box was set up without further ado. Thus, the trainees were able to present the Van Laer Foundation - in compliance with the corona protection measures - not only with the ready-wrapped gifts, but also with a generous monetary donation.
