PrintsPaul and BST have have entered into a cooperation to offer their customers even more comprehensive solutions in the field of 100% print image inspection. At LOPEC 2025 and ICE Europe 2025, PrintsPaul showcased converting machines equipped with the innovative BST TubeScan inspection technology.
The numerous trade fair visitors were impressed by the performance and reliability of the 4K TubeScan in combination with the PPVSA420 rewinder for themselves. One feature, for example, was the integrated contour light, which highlights the label die-cut contours on clear-on-clear or clear-on-paper applications. Other lighting options include UV light, bright field lighting and transmitted light. These types of lighting can be used individually or in combination in a single inspection run to reliably inspect even challenging labels with varnish, foil embossing or internal structures.
A particular advantage of the TubeScan inspection system is the modular software concept, which allows customers to expand the functionality step by step and thus adapt it to their individual needs in a highly cost-effective manner. Important software functions include
- Inspection of variable data (barcodes, number sequences, OCR)
- Delta-E monitoring for color accuracy control
- Distance monitoring to ensure correct positioning
- Dynamic rollmap for visual error display with error images
- PDF toolbox e.g. for reference image adjustment
Naturally, PrintsPaul customers receive TubeScan systems individually tailored to their specific inspection requirements. These are available with camera resolutions of up to 8K for narrow web applications.
The solutions for printed electronics presented at LOPEC highlighted the importance of high-resolution inspection systems to reliably detect even the smallest defects in conductor paths or similar print structures.
