BST presents innovative solutions for profile monitoring and 100% surface inspection in tire production

The Tire Technology Expo 2026 in Hanover (March 3, 4, and 5, 2026) is considered the leading international event for tire design and manufacturing. Experts from industry, research, and development will meet in Halls 19, 20, and 21 of the Deutsche Messe Hannover to exchange ideas on the latest technologies and innovations. At the trade fair in Hall 20, Booth 4051, BST will present two powerful systems for the highest quality requirements in tire production: LaserTrack Pro 600 and SurfaceScope Pro.

High-resolution 3D profile monitoring with maximum cost-effectiveness

The new LaserTrack Pro 600 combines the best of both worlds: It delivers the extremely high resolution typically associated with point-laser systems while providing full 100% width coverage. A highly precise traversing system moves smoothly across the web. Two high-resolution 3D profilers take measurements every 30 Millimeters - on both the top and bottom sides. The software then seamlessly stitches these measurements together to generate complete 3D profile data. Thanks to the very narrow viewing angle, common shading effects (occlusion) seen in full-width profiling systems are eliminated. A full scan is completed within just a few seconds, depending on the traverse speed. The result: precise, comprehensive 3D profile information in a compact and cost-efficient system.

SurfaceScope Pro – 100% surface inspection ensures 100% production quality

The new SurfaceScope Pro uses up to six high-resolution line-scan cameras on cutting-machines. It can detect holes, rubber inconsistencies, splicing issues, wire exposures and more. You can also monitor the width during production and set up alerts for the operator or even machine stops. Its narrow design allows for flexible integration in space-constrained areas. An optional backlight is available for cases where the front and back systems cannot be mounted directly opposite each other.

In cutting machine applications, high-speed 4K color cameras detect holes, exposed wires, and alignment issues with a camera resolution of 0.12 mm. The working width ranges from 500 mm to 1,500 mm and can be covered using up to three cameras mounted side by side.

The system uses the OPC protocol, connects via TCP Ethernet, and communicates with the production line via the German software KepServerEX. It supports all common PLC device connections. Customers only need to specify the data addresses, and the system can then read and write data directly to the PLC.

Precision and process reliability for tomorrow's tire production

With LaserTrack Pro 600 and SurfaceScope Pro, BST underscores its commitment to supporting tire manufacturers with precise, economical, and seamlessly integrable quality assurance solutions. Both systems help to detect errors early on, keep processes stable, and reduce scrap in the long term. Visitors to the Tire Technology Expo 2026 are invited to see the capabilities of the solutions for themselves in Hall 20, Booth 4051, and to discuss individual requirements in tire production with BST experts.
