An intrinsically safe edge detector and an explosion-proof or air-purged actuator are included in the system.
Sensors
Widely recognized for its patented, fully compensated array edge detectors, AccuWeb offers a variety of models and detection ranges using both ultrasonic and infrared technology. Our systems also include digital color line guide sensors. All designs are uniquely simple, highly durable, and easy to install with plug-n-play connections.
WideArray
Dynamically Compensated Edge Detectors Offering a Wide Sensing Range Using Ultrasonic or Infrared Sensing Technology
WideArray ™ Edge Detectors have broad detection ranges to accommodate varying web widths. Edge detectors can be physically repositioned because web widths can be changed on the fly. A WideArray is a rugged and compact device that is easily mounted and requires only a single cable.
Every WideArray incorporates AccuWeb's patented Compensated Array Technology, which automatically compensates for dust, temperature and humidity changes, web flutter and passline variations, and other environmental factors.
Point Source
Dynamically Compensated Edge Detectors for Single Point Web Guide Accuracy
Point Source edge detectors use a unique two beam system that continuously monitors the energy transmitted while compensating for minute environmental changes to maintain a consistent guide point. This results in improved web accuracy and reliability, as well as less downtime.
No other edge detector provides greater accuracy and reliability, even in the harshest environments.
Actuators
AccuWeb’s actuators feature industrial-grade sealed thrust bearings sized at 200% the rated load and are prelubricated for maintenance-free operation.
PDG-FS Wide Web Applications
Rugged Designs to Meet the Demands of All Wide Web Features
The AccuGuide PDG-FS Series of Positive Displacement Guides are made of welded structural steel tube, which provides the strength and reliability required for wider webs and higher tension applications. The PDG-FS Series, like all AccuWeb web guides, incorporates proprietary linear bearings and a carriage design that allows for optimal web guide performance whether installed vertically, horizontally, or inverted.
PDG-AP Mid-to-Narrow Web Applications
Rugged, Dependable and Precise Performance for Mid to Narrow Web Applications
The AccuGuide PDG-AP Series, which is part of AccuWeb's full line of Positive Displacement Guide systems, is designed for precision and dependability. The AP Series, made of tough anodized aluminum plate, are cost-effective systems that deliver premium performance in even the most demanding operations.
The moving frame and idler roller assembly are supported by one or more pairs of proprietary linear bearings, which securely connect it to its stationary base. For maximum application flexibility, this one-of-a-kind linear bearing system allows the guide assembly to be installed in vertical, horizontal, or inverted positions.
PDG-PS Narrow Web Applications
Cost-Effective Solutions for Narrow Web Applications
The AccuGuide PDG-PS Series, which is part of AccuWeb's full line of Positive Displacement Guide systems, is designed for simplicity and dependability. These compact, formed steel guides are low-cost systems that provide reliable performance. The moving frame and idler roller assembly are supported and secured to the stationary base by three or more proprietary linear bearings. For optimum application performance, this one-of-a-kind linear bearing system allows the guide assembly to be installed vertically, horizontally, or inverted.
Steering Roll Assemblies
Manufactured for excellent performance and reliability
AccuGuide Steering Roll assemblies are made in two different ways. Anodized aluminum plate (SR-AP Series) is used for mid-to-narrow webs and structural steel tube (SR-FS Series) is used for wide web or high tension applications. Both designs feature a proprietary linear bearing system mounted to an integral frame that allows for easy tram and level mounting. This simplifies installation and eliminates alignment issues. For maximum application flexibility, this one-of-a-kind linear bearing system allows the guide assembly to be installed in vertical, horizontal, or inverted positions.
Shifting Base Assemblies
Engineered to provide superior performance and reliability
Unwind/Winder-Rewind AccuGuide Shifting Base assemblies are built using one of two methods. Anodized aluminum plate (SB-AP Series) is used for mid to narrow webs and structural steel tube (SB-FS Series) is used for wide web or high tension applications. Linear bearing systems with low coefficients of friction provide superior long-term reliability and accuracy.
Shifting base assemblies are designed specifically for each application. Tension/safety chuck systems are accommodated by uprights and mounting surfaces. These assemblies are pre-assembled and ready to install, with level and tram mounting feet.
Web Width Monitors
Web width monitors that set a standard for accuracy and reliability
In converting applications, web width or web edge position can be critical. AccuWeb's Web Width Monitor excels at making these measurements for acquisition as well as process control. To measure web width and position, the system employs patented WideArrayTM edge detectors and a Micro 4000NET controller outfitted with Web Width Monitor software.
